I was never sure that this piece would work for me from the concept and clips on Ben’s website and wondered whether his 10E piece would work better. After a few conversations and shared observations on some you tube video’s about it (not the best medium I suspect) Ben convinced me to go for this one.
For the 1st 30 seconds that I played it it was as bright as I feared. In less than 5 minutes this thing had gone straight to the very core of my tonal concept. Blow it how you want to blow it and you’ll get the resultant character. Its extremely easy to play and I’m not talking about a free blowing feel.
No, you can feel what you are doing with a good slight resistance every step of the way with it but it is just easy! The way it should be.
Every single note does what you want with an evenness. Go wild and every note is harmoniously linked. Blow soft and every note is harmoniously linked. The best modern mouthpiece I have ever laid my hands on. Thanks Ben for this piece of magic!
