Otto Link Slant Signature 7 (BP)

I purchased this from a friend who didn’t get on with it that well after a bargain find.

I had similar issues with it and found it had a nice vibe masked in the most part by being hard work and had an unevenness throughout the register. Fortunately good will exists in that, although my friend knew the market price for a piece, he was able to pass it on to me allowing the additional cost of a reface to be added and still  come in at current market value. I just had to decide if it was worth the risk. Turns out to be the best mouthpiece risk I ever took. Brian found the table wasn’t flat the rails were uneven. From what I know of the piece and Brains work sheet, it is my assumption that it was originally a 6 but someone attempted to open it to a 7 without correctly matching the curve. This has now been beautifully corrected and the voice I heard is still there and now oozes out all over the register and blows so much easier. Thank You Brian.

The baffle is lower than the other Slant I own.

This is the no USA version.
