Mouthpieces

Pictures of my favourite mouthpieces can be seen by clicking the links below.

They are the very best tenor pieces of my mouthpiece Journey.

Perhaps these pieces will not provide much surprise to anyone who has has a quest for their own Holy Grail.

I would like to add that if you are looking for surprises, Saxscape Fat Cat and Namia models gave me a lot of bang for the buck!

I have grouped the pieces into 3 tiers seen below but can’t split individually within the tier.

I have tried numerous other pieces from standard modern Otto Links (metal and rubber pieces), original and modern Tone Masters, other Navarros through to Lawtons, Jody Jazz, RPC, Laser Trimmed Guardala’s (Crescent, MBII, Studio), Dukoff (Miami silverite), Guy Hawkins, Meyer Bros, Brillhart Tonalins, Selmer Soloists, Phill Tone, SR Tech, Le Bayle, Phil Barone.

I still own a few mouthpieces from this ‘others’ list that didn’t make the gallery but have a special ‘something’.

And finally

I have loved the experimentation and I concede without doubt that even if I found my Holy Grail of today years ago I would not have recognised it and people who play a single mouthpiece just because it suits them, command my total respect.

And just because the order of my list may conform to popular thinking, what’s to say that you wont prefer a Claude Lakey over my favourite Ben Allen piece? The mouthpiece world is an intriguing place and this site is set up for sharing pictures based on your enjoyment.

I hope you enjoyed your stay.
